Today, retired State Representative Phillip Frye endorsed Western North Carolina native Wayne King in the Republican primary to replace outgoing U.S. Congressman Mark Meadows to represent North Carolina’s 11th District.  Frye represented current 11th District Counties’ Mitchell, Avery, and Yancey during his five terms in the State House.

“I have known Wayne since he was Vice-Chair of the Republican Party, and while he worked for Congressman Meadows,” Frye said. “Wayne has the same strong conservative beliefs Mark has and will hit the ground running for all the things so very important to our nation right now.”

“It is an honor to have the endorsement of Representative Frye,” King said. “He has been a strong voice for our conservative mountain values for many years and was a tireless advocate for the people of Mitchell, Avery and Yancey counties in the State House. I am humbled by the support our campaign is receiving from strong conservative leaders from across the 11th District.”
