Today, Mayor of Woodfin and Former Buncombe County Emergency Services Director Jerry VeHaun endorsed Wayne King for the Republican nomination for North Carolina’s 11thCongressional District.

“Over the past 7 years, I’ve had the privilege to get to know Wayne King as Congressman Mark Meadows’ Deputy Chief of Staff and work with him on many issues facing both Buncombe County Emergency Services and the Town of Woodfin,” VeHaun said. “Whenever Buncombe County was challenged with natural disasters or problems with bureaucratic red tape, Wayne was there to pitch in and help. Like our first responders, I have found you can always count on Wayne King to answer the call. Western North Carolina deserves a public servant committed to those who serve in law enforcement, emergency services and fire protection. I know Wayne King is that candidate and that is why he has earned my full support and endorsement to further serve us in Congress.”

“It has been my pleasure to work with Mayor VeHaun, and I’m honored and humbled to have his endorsement,” King said. “Providing the necessary help our counties and constituents needed during natural disasters was always top priority in Congressman Meadows’ office and it will be a top priority for me.  We will always answer the call, and we will not rest until our people are taken care of. As your Congressman, our law enforcement, emergency services and fire protection will always be able to count on me.”
